The book launch of the Factum Foreign Policy Review ‘A Vision for a new Sri Lanka’ took place on Tuesday (19), at the Lakshman Kadirgamar Institute in Colombo. Author Uditha Devapriya, presented a copy of the book to President’s Senior Advisor on National Security and Presidential Chief of Staff Sagala Ratnayaka.

Director and Advisor of Factum Dr. Ranga Kalansooriya said, “The genesis of this book’s research draws from nearly 25 in-depth interviews conducted by the author with a range of officials and personnel, including current members of the Diplomatic Service, retired Foreign Secretaries, high-ranking officials from the Armed Forces and members of the administrative services and other officials. Notably, all the researchers involved in this project were under the age of 30, demonstrating a commendable commitment to grassroots-level exploration of foreign policy that spanned all nine provinces of Sri Lanka. This initiative is particularly aligned with President Wickremesinghe’s vision of positioning Sri Lanka as a Digital Friendly Country, echoing his thoughts on G77. This book launch marks a significant milestone in the discourse surrounding Sri Lanka’s foreign policy, promising to shape the country’s strategic direction for the future.”

Acting Foreign Minister Tharaka Balasuriya, Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa, former Ministers Sarath Amunugama, Ravi Karunanayaka, Vedda Chief Uruwarige Wannila Aththo and other officials were present.
