Education Management Service to be established soon

Education Minister Dr. Susil Premajayantha said that an Education Management Service will be established in accordance with a new service constitution.

Accordingly, Education Minister Premajayantha said that the Education Management Service will be established in accordance with a new service constitution which will consist of those selected from among the development officers currently working in schools. He said that the school management will be streamlined by deploying those graduate officers as per the needs of each school.

The Minister made these comments at the launch of the Learning Management System (LMS) for the training of data officers designed to meet the training requirements at the national level for data officers designated at the provincial, regional, divisional and school levels.

According to the state administrative arrangements, this new service is to be established at the divisional level in proportion to the 335 Divisional Secretariats. The Minister further said that school feeding programmes, vaccination programmes and more can be easily carried out in accordance with the administration of the Health Ministry.

The Minister mentioned here that by recruiting development officers who are already attached to schools and working in the public service to this new service, the Government will not spend additional allocations and their services are expected to restore the office management of all aspects related to education such as schools, school development boards, zonal offices and provincial offices.
