Three nabbed with communication equipment at BIA

Three persons were arrested at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) with illegally imported communication equipment yesterday (27).

Police said three suspects aged 22, 27 and 46 residents of Colombo 10 were arrested by the Katunayake Airport Police.

The three persons were arrested with the illegally imported communication equipment in their possession after their motor vehicle was inspected by the Katunayake Airport Police while attempting to leave the Airport premises.

Police officials found nine laptops, 121 smart phones, 100 small mobile phones, 240 chargers, phone batteries and phone covers from the possession of the suspects.

The Katunayaka Airport Police is carrying out investigations over the incident.
