High Posts Committee approves seven appointments

Secretary General of Parliament Kushani Rohanadheera said that the Committee on High Posts approved seven new appointments including a Ministerial Secretary and an Ambassador.

Accordingly, the Committee on High Posts has approved the appointment of M.E.M. Joseph Weninger as the Ambassador-designate of Sri Lanka to Egypt.

The Committee on High Posts also approved W. M Dharmapala as the Ambassador-designate of Sri Lanka to Bangladesh.

The appointment of H.M.B.P. Herath as the Tourism and Lands Ministry Secretary has also been approved by the Committee on High Posts.

The Committee on High Posts has approved the appointments of Major General (Retd) G. A. Chandrasiri as Airports and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) (Pvt) Limited Chairman, Dr. S. W. M. Hettige as Sri Lanka Institute of Bio-Technology (Pvt) Limited Chairman, B.M.L. Pathirana as Sri Lanka Press Council Chairman and I. S. Wijesekara as Sri Lanka State Plantation Corporation Chairman.

The Committee on High Posts met in Parliament recently under the Chairmanship of the Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardana. MPs Johnston Fernando, Anura Priyadarshana Yapa and Dharmalingam Siddharthan were also present.
