Cancer on the rise in SL – Minister

According to Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella, the number of patients admitted to the Maharagama Apeksha Cancer Hospital has increased by 8.2 percent.

He also said that due to the increase in the number of patients admitted to the hospital for inpatient treatment, it can be inferred that there has been an increase in the number of cancer patients in this country.

The Minister also said that surveys have revealed that there has been a 20 percent increase in the number of patients admitted to the country’s leading hospitals for residential treatment.
