Yal Devi fatally hits 17 cows

Seventeen cows died after being hit by the Yal Devi train at Umayalapuram in Elephant Pass on Saturday at 3.00 pm, Police said.

Police said that the train was running from Kankesanturai to Colombo.

They said that this accident happened because the herd of cows were released without protection and the animals were on the railway track.
