At the AGM which took place on Saturday of the Old Trinitians Sports Club at their club house at Asgiriya Dr. Indika Ratnatillake a sports lover and promoter, who gives a big hand for sports was re-elected as President for a second one -year term. In his last term he did a good job and made all members of the club happy and proud. One of the veterans of the club Nug Silva a former president has come in as the secretary, he was a fine sportsman and sports promoter . During his school days he was a top class hockey player who played for the under 14, under 17 and first XI and won colours and also played for Kandy Schools in the nationals and was a top Golf promoter. He joined the Golf Club in 1971 and completed over 50 years as a member, in 2021.He was a Committee member Vice President and also President of the Sri Lanka Golf Union. Toured many Asian Countries and went as Captain/Manager of the Sri Lanka Team to Pakistan (Nomura Cup) and also the SAARC Tournament in Nepal.. Nug at one time was the Nuwara Eliya and Sri Lanka golf club president.
The new committee is – Trustees Nahil Wijasuriya , Mohan Samrakoon and Mike Richardson. president Dr. Indika Ratnatilake, Immediate past president Manjula Weera ratne, Vice Presidents Primal Wijeisnghe, Thusitha de Silva, Secretary Nug Silva , Treasurer Milinda Jayawardene, Bar Secretary R.C. Gamage, Social Secretary Janaka Ekanayake, Sports Secretary Rajitha Bandara, Committee comprises people like Kessara Guanrthne, Rifan Razeek,Janaka Weerakoon, K. Pradeepan.
On 19th July 1980 the OTSC was formally inaugurated with A.G.G.Perera as the first Secretary, 53 members were elected as founder members. In 1981 under Dr. S.B. Ellepola as President one of the pioneers of the club, the late Keerthi Ratnayake as secretary, a team was entered for the” Daily News” Trophy Cricket Tournament.
