Principals and Teachers protest March obstructs traffic in Pelawatta

The Police used water cannons and fired tear gas yesterday (24) to disperse a protest march organized and staged by Teachers and Principals near the Palam Thuna junction in Pelawatta.

The protest march was carried out by teachers and principals voicing several of their demands. As a result, the Borella – Kottawa main road (174 bus route) which was completely obstructed, was closed to traffic. Heavy traffic was reported near Palam Thuna Junction in Pelawatta owing to the protest which was being carried out.
