Two students held for theft of cash, valuables

Two male school students who broke into the house of a Sub-Inspector at Uswetakeiyyawa and stole nearly Rs. 500,000 in cash and other valuables were arrested by the officers of Pamunugama Police.

The Sub-Inspector is attached to the Gampaha Police Station.

Investigations have revealed that these two students are neighbours of the Sub-Inspector and one student is also his relative. Police said that a gold necklace weighing two sovereigns, a bottle of foreign liquor and cash amounting to Rs. 80,000 were stolen. These two students are 16 and 14 years of age.
