Graphite can be produced from miniran. But graphite has a limited market. What we need to do is to come to an agreement with a company that can access that market, the leader of the National People’s Power (NPP), Anura Kumara Dissanayake said while attending a public meeting in Los Angeles, America.
This rally was organised by a group of members of the National People’s Power living in USA on October 28.
Anura Kumara Dissanayake also said: “Graphite is expensive. Generally, one ton of graphite used to cost US$ 2,000. A kilo of graphite is US$ 5,000. Graphite can be produced from miniran. But graphite has a limited market. In the past, it was used to produce batteries for hybrid cars. Now they have found a way to use it to fix cement. Iron can be fixed with graphite. But it has a limited market.
“So what to do? We need to reach an agreement with a company that can access that market. I think we can’t access it. For that, there should be competence in the market with international experience.”
