BoC computer system’s technical glitch restored

Bank of Ceylon’s Chief Executive Officer and General Manager Russel Fonseka said that the computer system of the bank faced a technical issue causing temporary disruption of some services to customers yesterday. The bank succeeded in restoring services promptly.

He said that the technical issue had cropped up in the computer system due to high volume of transactions and service facilities provided through the computer system on October 31, being the last day of transaction in the month. Fonseka when asked whether there was failure in the computer system of the Bank, said that the customers faced disruptions to some services for a few hours yesterday as a result of this technical issue.

Fonseka said that the computer system was re-activated immediately and customer services were restored in a short time.
