Robber bites cops in escape bid

A 42-year-old man said to be a retired army soldier who was arrested in Hakmana while fleeing after stealing a motorcycle had bitten three Police officers while trying to escape from custody.

A Police Sergeant and two constables with bite injuries have been admitted to the Gangodagama hospital for treatment.

Police had been able to prevent the suspect from escaping and he is currenly under their custody.
