Pahadul Asvida Perera the athlete turned volleyball player

Twelve year old up and coming Volleyball player. Setter of the side, Athlete, Best Setter of the All Island Schools under 13 DSI Tournament 2023 Pahadul Asvida Perera has brought honour and immense glory to his alma mater Dhamissara National School Nattandiya with his deeds in the field of Athletics and Volleyball.

Pahadul who hails from Mailawa Nattadiya was born on 15 May 2011 and admitted to his present school in 2017. Up to grade five he took part in athletics and at the school sports meet he won 80 meters and came second place in 80 and 60 meter events at the under nine and ten age categories.

Though he did athletics his Parents Terrence Perera and Nadeesha Nimanthika realizing his forte is Volleyball handed over their son to the School Coach Haritha Gihan when he was in grade four. He was selected to the school under eleven team but could not go far due to the Coronavirus in 2020 and 2021. Then in 2022 he was selected to the under 13 Volleyball team and his school won the Divisional, Zonal, District and Provincial Tournaments conducted by DSI and in 2023 participating in the All Island under 13 DSI Tournament his school won the Championship for the year 2023 and Pahadul was adjudged as the under 13 Best Setter.
