Saudi Arabia’s Efforts for Sri Lanka’s Economic Development

At this time when many countries around the world are facing many economic setbacks, there is no doubt that it is beneficial to know about the economy of Saudi Arabia, which is one of the strongest economies in the world.

The economy of Saudi Arabia is the 17th most powerful competitive economy in the world.

It is known that Saudi Arabia’s economic policy is heavily dependent on Islamic economic principles. One thing that should be mentioned here is the stability of the regime that has established Saudi Arabia and is ruling it so far.

The Saudi Arabian government continues to maintain an economically stable and strong position for about 80 years. It has undertaken many projects for that, especially in the beginning of petroleum production, when they joined hands with the Western superpower countries and started petroleum exploration.

Today it has improved the national humanities in a short period of time and has succeeded in an economic plan to protect its products without foreign interference.

A few months ago a professor from Sri Lanka followed the example of Saudi to implement mechanisms to protect the country’s resources without selling them. It should be recalled here that Ali An Naimi , the former petroleum minister of Saudi Arabia, had spoken quoting the plans.

Currently, Saudi Arabia is traveling through many milestones with massive economic projects. Especially Prince Muhammad bin Salman’s massive plans have made the world look back today. “Neom” project to be established north of the Red Sea, Riyadh city; “MUQAP” development project with 400 meters high buildings, tourism and sports related massive projects.

We can also look at Saudi’s trade policies. It is an accepted history that Saudi Arabia has never had a policy of interfering in other countries’ own affairs, nor has it had a policy of plundering other countries’ resources.

What should be mentioned further is, His Excellency Khalid Bin Hamood Al-Qahdani, Saudi Arabian Ambassador to Sri Lanka, a personality who is proactive in strengthening bilateral relations.

We can continue to meet and negotiate with many leaders of Sri Lanka through the Twitter page of the Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Sri Lanka. It is particularly noteworthy that earlier this month, the Saudi Ambassador held a wide-ranging meeting with Sri Lanka’s first-class businessmen and manufacturing officials at the Sri Lankan Ministry of Foreign Affairs. We wish him success in his endeavors.
