Warden remanded over death of youth inmate in Kalmunai

A warden of a children’s detention centre in Kalmunai has been arrested over a death of a 17-year-old detainee.

This boy has been directed to this detention centre following his arrest over a theft. During the post-mortem examination the coroner determined that this death was a result of an assault.

Accordingly Kalmunai Police conducted investigations and the said 28-year-old female warden handed herself to the Police.

The suspect was presented to the Kalmunai Magistrate’s Court and remanded till today (4). Kalmunai Police conducting further investigations.
