Cabinet approves to enter into Solar Power projects

Cabinet approval has been to enter in to a Power Purchase Agreement with United Solar Group of Australia to invest in a 700 MW Solar Power Project with a 1500 MWh of Battery Energy Storage System, saod the Power and Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera.

The Solar power project will be installed on the surface of the Poonakary Tank in the Killinochi District, with a Foreign Direct Investment of USD 1,727 Million, he further stated.
