‘Yukthiya’ operation: over 1,400 arrested

During the special operation ‘Yukthiya’ conducted by the Sri Lanka Police and its Special Task Force (STF) between 0030 hours on 28.12.2023 to 0030 hours on 29.12.2023, the following quantities of narcotics were seized.

The narcotics that were seized had 460g of heroin, 653g of methamphetamine (‘Ice’), 3.63kg of cannabis, 562 narcotic pills and 103,793 cannabis plants.

A total of 1,467 suspects have been arrested during the operation, of which 56 suspects are being further investigated based on detention orders.
