All sluice gates of Parakrama Samudra opened

All sluice gates of the Parakrama Samudra were opened by two feet each from yesterday morning due to incessant rain experienced in the Pollonnaruwa district during the past two days.

Police said that traffic between Gallella and Manampitiya on the Polonnaruwa – Batticaloa road was hampered due to inclement weather in the area yesterday.

Police urged motorists travelling to Batticaloa to use alternate routes via Giritale, Elahera, Bakamuna and Dehiattakandiya.
