Candidate turnout at A/L exam very high

Examinations Commissioner General Amith Jayasundara said that the candidate turned out at the G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination 2023, which commenced this morning (4) at 2303 examination centres countrywide, is very high.

According to the Examination Department statistics a total of 346,976 candidates have been selected to sit the Examination.  Of those candidates the participation of candidates in the examination is very high even amidst the bad weather conditions reported from some parts of the country including the North Central Province.

The exam will continue until January 31. Of the total candidates 281,445 are school applicants while the rest 65,531 are private applicants.
