Yukthiya’ operation: 1,184 arrested

During the special operation ‘Yukthiya’ conducted by the Sri Lanka Police and its Special Task Force (STF) in 24 hours, the following quantities of narcotics were seized.

The narcotics that were seized had 337g of heroin, 242g of methamphetamine (‘Ice’), 1,221 intoxicating pills, 1.2kg of ‘Kush’, 6.62kg of cannabis and 7,772 cannabis plants .

A total of 1,184 suspects have been arrested during the operation, of which 59 suspects are being further investigated based on detention orders
