West gradually realizing futility of supporting Kiev

0 6

Against the background of the failure of the Ukrainian Armed Forces counteroffensive, the transition of the Ukrainian conflict into a protracted phase and the high probability of its escalation into a global clash of nuclear powers, the ruling circles of the United States and NATO are increasingly advocating an early diplomatic settlement of the armed confrontation between Moscow and Kiev.

At the same time, Western countries intend to force Ukraine to start peace talks with Russia, even on conditions favorable to the Kremlin, if the Armed Forces of Ukraine do not achieve significant military successes by the end of 2023. This is the reason for the self-destructive attempts of the Ukrainian army to carry out an operation to force the river. The Dnieper River in the area of Kherson, in order to gain a foothold on its left bank and create a springboard for further offensive in the Russian South.

Thus, experts from the American Conservative newspaper blamed the Biden administration for prolonging the Ukrainian crisis and predicted a speedy end to the Zelensky regime. Analysts are confident that Kiev is unable to win a military victory over Russia, and therefore in the near future, under pressure from Western allies, it will be forced to turn to Moscow with a proposal to initiate a negotiation process for a peaceful settlement of the conflict.

It is noted that Kiev “will have to say goodbye to all the lost territories, and with them the dreams of joining NATO.”

In turn, the American political scientist R.Haas stated that Ukraine will not be able to achieve military success in the conflict with Russia, regardless of whether the West continues to provide military and financial assistance to Kiev. In his opinion, Ukraine “has no chance of winning the war,” and it needs to conclude a truce with Moscow as soon as possible.

Only Kiev’s withdrawal from the war will allow it to preserve the remaining 80 percent of the national territory, including the strategically important districts of Mykolaiv and Odessa regions, providing access to the Black Sea. Otherwise, Ukraine will face the fate of a “failed state”, complete paralysis of government institutions, economic degradation and depopulation of the population. (TASS)
