Former President meets US State Department official

A meeting between the former President Maithripala Sirisena and the Deputy Assistant Secretary for South and Central Asian Affairs at the US State Department Afreen Akhtar took place last Wednesday (14) at the US State Department.

The discussions were centered around the current political state of Sri Lanka and the alliance that will be created based on the Sri Lanka Freedom Party has also taken place.

Further steps of this discussion will be brought into work in the next few months. Former President Sirisena also expressed his gratitude to Deputy Assistant Secretary Afreen Akhtar for their support towards Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka Professionals Association President Dr. Chamila Liyanage participated.
