Senura and Muthumali top seeds at Aarya TT Open tournament
The national champions Senura Silva and Muthumali Priyadharshani are men’s and women’s top seeds at the Aarya Challenge Trophy Open All Island Ranking Table Tennis Championship conducted by the Nugegoda Table Tennis Club in collaboration with the Table Tennis Association of Sri Lanka.
The event will be held from January 7 to 9 at the Bandaragama Indoor Stadium.
389 players entered this Table Tennis Championship and all leading ranked players were entered to the tournament. However, experienced former National champion Ishara Madurangi has withdrawn her entry due to an injury.
Muthumalee Priyadharshani, Hansani Piyumila, and Bimandee Bandara will be the good contenders for women’s singles while Senura Silva and Krishan Wickramarathne, Nirmala Jayasinghe are the top paddlers for men’s singles. Bimandee Bandara is the top seed of both girls under 17 and 19 events while Senura Silva was also named as the top seed of boys under 17 and 19 events. The events of boys and girls under 11, 13, 15, 17, 19, open men’s and women’s singles doubles, and mixed doubles events will be conducted in this three-day tournament.
The most outstanding players from all events will receive the Aarya Challenge trophies from Raigam Marketing Services Pvt. Ltd together with cash awards.
