Father attempts suicide after killing son, daughter

A 63-year-old father has hacked to death his 29 year-old son and a 15 year-old girl in the Periya Nilaveli in Ampara.

Police said both the children suffer from speech impediments.

The father had attempted to slit his own throat following the murder of his children.

He has been admitted to the Kalmunai Hospital in a critical condition.
