Minister pays last respects to late Emeritus Professor Chandrasiri Palliyaguru

Transport, Highways and Mass Media Minister Dr. Bandula Gunawardhana paid his last respects to the late Emeritus Professor Chandrasiri Palliyaguru at a private funeral parlour in Colombo yesterday.

Professor Palliyaguru, a well-known professor and an expert on the study of communication, had made a unique contribution to the field of education as the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities as well as the Dean of the Department of Mass Communication Studies at the University of Kelaniya.

As a prolific writer, he has published more than 54 books including novels, reviews, translations and children’s stories. As an award-winning writer, he has accomplished a vast mission in many fields such as academic articles, newspaper articles, plays, songs and fiction and reviews.
