Police personnel on duty at JSMB inner courtyard decked in special new uniform

A new Police uniform has been introduced for Policemen and women officers who are on duty in the inner courtyard of the historic Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi in Anuradhapura (JSMB).

As decided, 30 Police officers on duty in the inner courtyard of the Sri Maha Bodhi received new uniforms yesterday (25), Police media said.

Based on a request made by the Atamasthanadipathi to the Minister of Public Security Tiran Alles and the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Deshabandu Tennakoon, the making of special uniforms for the Police officers on duty in the inner courtyard of the Sri Maha Bodhi has been carried out under the direct supervision of the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) in charge of the Anuradhapura Division Thilina Hewapathirana.

The male and female Police officers who began their duties dressed in their new uniforms have been blessed by the Atamasthanadhipathi Ven. Pallegama Hemarathana Thera.
