No difference between JVP and LTTE – Namal

SLPP National Organizer and Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa asserted that there is no distinction between the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Ealam (LTTE) and the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP), both of which engaged in acts of violence, including the destruction of public property and the killing of individuals.

He further stated that the JVP, like the LTTE, targeted the Maha Sangha, ordinary citizens, and public infrastructure, including buses and transformers.

Rajapaksa made these remarks while speaking to the media after paying a courtesy call and receiving blessings from the Mahanayakes of the Malwatta and Asgiriya Chapters.

He underscored that the JVP, akin to the LTTE, has a history of destructive behaviour, and it is up to the people to decide whether they want to entrust the country to those who cause destruction or to a group that aims to develop the nation.

Additionally, Rajapaksa pointed out that some political parties have gained prominence merely through boasting. He criticized a faction of such braggarts who managed to overthrow the government, only to find themselves accused of theft and ending up in jail.
