Former Dinamina Chief Editor Sarath Cooray passes away

Veteran journalist and a former Chief Editor of the Dinamina and Director Editorial of ANCL, Sarath Cooray passed away on Wednesday and the funeral took place yesterday evening at the General Cemetery, Borella. He was 84.

Cooray joined Lake House as Dinamina Chief Editor in 1994 and he had also worked as a reporter for many foreign news agencies.

An old boy of Sri Sumangala College, Panadura, Cooray had also served as the Deputy Editor of the Mawbima which was published by the Communist Party of Sri Lanka. He was also the Chief Editor of Dinakara – the official newspaper of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party.
