Maithripala, a non entity for us now – Amaraweera

Sri Lanka Freedom Party Senior Vice President and Agriculture Minister Mahinda Amaraweera said that before the Court banned the Chairmanship of Maithripala Sirisena, he was banned by the people.

He was speaking at a press conference held on Thursday (18) at the Transport Ministry on the current situation of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party.

Amaraweera said that former President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga filed

a case before court seeing an order against the chairmanship of Maithripala Sirisena.

He said that the SLFP has been reduced to only two MPs under the leadership of former President Maithripala Sirisena even though the party had 140 MPs in Parliament when he accepted the SLFP Chairmanship.
