Edelweiss, concludes winter schedule in Sri Lanka, to resume operations in Nov.

After the successful completion of its winter schedule in Sri Lanka on May 17 Swiss International Airlines (LX 8068) operated by Edelweiss, will resume operations back in Colombo in the first week of November 2024.

Edelweiss is wholly owned by Swiss International Airlines and is a part of the Lufthansa Group. It operates direct flights to Europe, North America, and beyond with Swiss International Airlines from its hub at Zurich Airport.

Since its flight operation to Sri Lanka from November 3, 2023, to May 17 2024, Edelweiss Flight has carried over 5,500 passengers to Sri Lanka and lifted more than 3,100 passengers. The airline operated A340-300 weekly flights from Zurich to Colombo until May 17, 2024.

Founded in 1995 and named after the Edelweiss flower, a symbol of Switzerland known for its resilience and beauty, the airline is committed to quality and customer satisfaction and has established itself as a prominent player in the aviation industry.

Chairman, Airport and Aviation Services) (Pvt.) Limited (AASL), Eng. Athula Galketiya, stated: “We are expecting to see the airline in our skies in the upcoming season too, continuing our strong partnership.
