Four ‘wives’ claim accident victim’s body

Information from Kuliyapitiya Hospital revealed that four women claiming to be wives have come forward to accept the body of a man who died in a collision of two motorcycles near the Kuliyapitiya Medical Faculty recently.

The Kuliyapitiya Police said the other rider was seriously injured in the accident. The deceased was a 59-year-old man named Premaratne Adhikari who resided in several areas including Polonnaruwa.

Hospital sources say that the deceased died after being admitted to the Kuliyapitiya Teaching Hospital and following his demise four claiming to be his wives have claimed his body. Police said that steps will be taken to hand over the body to the legally wedded wife.
