The government intends to implement many projects in the next few months, to provide necessary facilities to rural people, as well as to improve the Livelihood Development of low-income families.
Minister of Agriculture and Plantation Industries Mahinda Amaraweera said that President Ranil Wickremesinghe informed the Cabinet that the government intends to spend Rs.20.6 billion for those activities.
Therefore, the Minister advised officials to set up as many new Agricultural projects as possible, so as to raise income levels of the farmers in the villages, developing their infrastructure and targeting new Agricultural technology.
The Minister stated this at a discussion held at the Ministry of Agriculture and Plantation Industries.
