Funds of fifteen organisations, 210 involved in extremist activities freezed
The government has taken steps to freeze all funds and assets of 15 organizations and 210 individuals involved in extremist and terrorist activities with immediate effect. Accordingly, the Defence Ministry has issued a special gazette under the signature of Defence Ministry Secretary Gen.(retd) Kamal Gunaratne.
With the issuance of this gazette funds, other financial assets and economic resources of these 15 terrorist and extremist organisations and 210 people associated with them will be confiscated. This step has been taken according to the UN Act No. 45 of 1968 and the UN Decree No.01 of 2012.
