Education Minister Dr. Susil Premajayantha said that when the students who got excellent results are evaluated, the younger students are also interested in imitating them and getting excellent results.
He said so while appreciating the students who obtained excellent results in the G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination at an event held yesterday at the Education Ministry.
Furthermore, performance appraisal is a must to encourage students further to obtain the best results in their education. Such a performance appraisal paves the way for creating a winning culture, the Minister said.
Accordingly, the unparalleled performances of Pahanma Upani Lenora of Sanghamitta Vidyalaya, Galle, who won the Island First Rank in the Biology stream, Chirat Nirodha of Ananda Vidyalaya, Colombo, who won the Island First Rank in the Mathematics stream, Shehara Situmini of Panadura Girls’ College, who won the Island First Rank in the Commerce stream, Tasun Ritmika Withanage of Richmond College, Galle, who won the Island First Rank in the Arts stream, Shehani Navodya of Ginigathhena Central High School who got the Island First Rank in the Engineering Technology stream and Kirulu Sihildiya of the Eheliyagoda Central College who obtained the Island First Rank in the Bio-systems technology stream were felicitated by the Minister and Ministry officials.
