CINEC Campus has set a new milestone in Sri Lankan education by becoming the first private higher education institute to offer Bachelor of Education (Honours) degrees accredited by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Ministry of Education.

As the sole non-governmental educational institute authorised to provide these prestigious degrees, CINEC cements its position as a trailblazer in higher education.

Established in 1990, CINEC is renowned for its top-tier education and training in diverse fields. With a steadfast commitment to academic excellence and societal needs, CINEC offers qualifications of global repute, adhering to rigorous international standards of quality assurance.

The campus delivers sought-after education that instills graduates with creativity, entrepreneurship, self-discipline, and competence, equipping them to make substantial contributions in the workplace, industry and society.

Associate Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Education Lasantha Basnayake unveiled the specialised B Ed (Hons) degree programs in English, Information Technology, Biological Sciences, Physical Science and Sports and Physical Education. These programs are meticulously tailored to meet local and international standards, ensuring graduates are well-equipped for the global job market.

The four-year B Ed (Hons) programmes at CINEC are recognized by both the UGC and the Ministry of Education. They are designed to prepare students for careers in education, with potential future roles as university lecturers following postgraduate studies. These degrees focus on equipping individuals with the skills and knowledge necessary for successful teaching careers.

Highlighting CINEC’s dedication to societal needs and service, for the very first time in Sri Lanka in the contexts of both state and non-state sectors, three Bachelor of Education (Top-Up) Honours programmes are offered specifically targeting trained teachers from National Colleges of Education.

These unique two-year programmes; Bachelor of Education (Honors) in English, Biological Sciences and Physical Science, offer a streamlined pathway to PhD-level qualifications, promoting academic excellence in a shorter timeframe and at a reasonable cost. Designed to bridge the gap between training and degree attainment, it enables teachers to pursue advanced studies and international opportunities more swiftly, a distinction available only through CINEC in Sri Lanka. Understanding the economic realities faced by students, particularly teachers, CINEC has set its course fees at a very affordable rate, ensuring quality education is accessible to all.

Set to commence in June, all degree programs at CINEC will be guided by a highly qualified panel of academics, experts and practitioners. Prospective students are warmly encouraged to seize this opportunity and embark on a journey of excellence by enrolling in these tailored degree programmes
