Lanka Sathosa reduces prices of four essentials

Lanka Sathosa has taken steps to reduce the prices of four essential food commodities with effect from yesterday (14) to provide relief to the public. Consumers can now buy these food items at the reduced prices from any of the Lanka Sathosa outlets distributed across the country. Prices of green gram, chickpeas, brown sugar and dried chilli have been reduced by Lanka Sathosa.

Accordingly, the price of green gram per kilo has been reduced by Rs. 60 from the previous price of Rs.1,160 and the new price per kilo is Rs.1,100.

A kilo of Chickpeas is now sold at Rs.448 reducing Rs.12 from its previous price of Rs.460.Brown sugar has seen a drop of Rs.5 with the new price set at Rs.385 per kilo from its previous price of Rs.390.

Dried chilli which was sold at Rs.780 per kilo is now sold at Rs.775 making a reduction in price of Rs.5.
