The Cabinet of Ministers has granted its consent to the proposal by Education Minister Susil Premajayantha to enter into an agreement on educational cooperation between Sri Lanka and Vietnam for the period 2024 to 2026, Cabinet Spokesman Mass Media Minister Dr. Bandula Gunawardhana said.
He was speaking at the weekly Cabinet media briefing held yesterday at the Government Information Department. The need to further develop cooperation in the field of higher education between Sri Lanka and Vietnam has been identified.
For that, the two parties have agreed to implement the agreement reached during from 2017 to 2020 with amendments for 2024 to 2026.
Accordingly, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal to sign this agreement with the intention of exchanging information and experience related to development and innovation in the field of higher education and promoting bilateral co-operation programmes between research institutions and, exchange of scholarships for undergraduate or postgraduate studies in fields agreed by both parties and exchange of students or scholars between universities or research centers of the two countries.
