The well-known science writer and astronomer Anura C. Perera has played an important role in popularizing astronomy and space science in Sri Lanka since the 1960s. A series of commemorative stamps issued by the Philatelic Bureau of the Postal Department was released in honor of Anura C. Perera’s contributions, and his birthday was celebrated last week. He had the opportunity to present his stamp series to the well-known publisher H.D. Premasiri recently. The presentation was held at the BMICH in Colombo.
