SLBC Muslim Service celebrates Islamic New Year Muharram

The Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC) Muslim Service celebrated the Islamic New Year Muharram at the Ananda Samarakoon Studio yesterday (8), under the patronage of SLBC Chairman Hudson Samarasinghe.

All Ceylon Jamiyathul Ulama General Secretary Ash Sheik Arkam Nooramith addressed the gathering on the significance of Muharram.

SLBC Muslim Service Advisor and Mushan International Chairman Muslim Salahudeen presented a Set of Computers to the Muslim Service which his son Mushan International Sales and Marketing Director Mushan Salahudeen handed over to SLBC Chairman Hudson Samarasinghe, while Muslim Service Advisor Afzal Marikkar presented a Computer Printer to the Muslim Service at this ceremony.

SLBC Deputy Director General Program Mayuri Abeysinghe, SLBC Director J. Yogarajan. Head of Muslim Service Rinoziya Jaufer, SLBC Thendral Service Assistant Director A.M. Thaj, Muslim Media Forum President N.M. Ameen, Kollupitiya Jumma Mosque Trustees Z.A.M. Zakwan Haji and Shazmin Munsoor were also present.
