Prof. Terrence Madujith appointed Peradeniya University VC

President Ranil Wickremesinghe has appointed Prof. Terrence Madujith as the 23rd Vice Chancellor of the Peradeniya University.

The tenure of the present Vice Chancellor Professor M. D. Lamawansa ends on July 31. The term of service of the new Vice Chancellor is due to commence on August 1. The administrative council recommended to the University Grants Commission three names for the post of Vice Chancellor based on marks obtained during an interview and the appointment of one of them is done based on the President’s discretion. The tenure for a Vice Chancellor is three years.

Prior to being appointed as the Vice Chancellor Professor Terrence Madujith served as Deputy Vice Chancellor of the Peradeniya University for three years.

Madujith is a professor in the Food and Technology division at the Agriculture Faculty and is also a senior student advisor at the university. Prof.Madujith is also a director of the Education Research Committee and is acclaimed having submitted a number of research papers.
