President Wickremesinghe is a leader who understands value of education –Minister Wanniarachchi

Irrigation, Wildlife and Forest Conservation Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi Attorney-at-Law, said that it will be easier to create a good society and a good country by strengthening the tendency towards education of the country’s children.

The Minister pointed out that President Ranil Wickremesinghe is a leader who understands the value of education and that the presidential education scholarship programme he has started is an investment in the country’s future.

Wanniarachchi said this on Wednesday (17) while attending the ceremony of awarding Presidential Education Scholarships to school students in the Embilipitiya Education Zone.

Presidential education scholarships are to be awarded to 2,747 school students in the Ratnapura district and accordingly, 550 school students in the Embilipitiya education zone alone were awarded presidential education scholarships on Wednesday.

Ratnapura District Member of Parliament Muditha Soysa, Ratnapura District Secretary Wasantha Gunaratne and other school principals and teachers of the Embilipitiya Education Zone participated in this event.
