“JVP leaders said that they should not send foreign currencies to SL when people of are suffering”

We know the situation in the country two years ago. There was no fuel in the country. There was no gas. There was no medicine in the hospitals. The country did not have the means to buy some milk powder to give to the children. Due to the lack of foreign exchange, the oil and gas ships that came to the port had to be turned back. Meanwhile, JVP leaders told Sri Lankans abroad not to send dollars to this country. When they came to power, they were told to send dollars under their government.

Today this government is doing a great job for the future of the country. But some political factions only criticize the government without presenting a program that will build the country to the people. Even if there are as many critics as there are in this country today, there is a shortage of people to work.

One politician goes to schools everyday and preaches to school children. Another one goes abroad and preaches to foreigners. I think that they are ready to win votes with the votes of the foreigners.

The Minister of Agriculture and Plantation Industry, Mr. Mahinda Amaraweera expressed these views while participating in a program to provide financial allocations for agricultural entrepreneurs under the Small Scale Agricultural Entrepreneurship Participation Program (SAPP Project) under the Ministry of Agriculture. Under that project, 79 beneficiaries were given loans yesterday (21) under the provision of loans to the youth community for agricultural entrepreneurship programs.

This program was held in Agunakolapelasse and the Minister of Agriculture and Plantation Industries Mr. Mahinda Amaraweera participated in it.

The minister who expressed his views here-

Many blame the politicians for bringing our country to bankruptcy. But if the politicians are responsible for it, then the trade unions and their leaders in this country are also responsible for bankrupting the country.

There are no other countries that carry out strikes and trade union actions like our trade unions. Therefore, I think it would be very good if Mr. Anura Kumara, when he went abroad, took some of the leaders of his trade unions and made them see the situation in other countries of the world.

They can see how countries like Japan, Korea, and China have developed. There are no trade unions or strikes like this in those countries.

We asked Sajith and Anura Dissanayake to take the leadership of the country when this country is in bankruptcy. But they ran away in fear of the challenge.

But President Ranil Wickremesinghe accepted that challenge. He had no MPs. He was the only one who represented the Parliament from the UNP. We expressed our support for him even if he was a single person. Mr. Ranil Wickramasinghe was able to rebuild the country from the economic crisis. Therefore, the future leadership of the country should be given to a leader who can accept challenges and not to leaders who run away from challenges.
