President’s experience helped restore country from bankruptcy within two years –Wajira Abeywardena

Chairman of the UNP Wajira Abeywardena MP said that it was because of President Ranil Wickremesinghe, who has 42 years of experience in the Parliament, that the country was able to recover in this short period of two years.

He was speaking at the youth and women’s conference held recently at the UNP head office in Galle.

Chairman of the UNP Wajira Abeywardena MP also said “through the youth union that we have started, we met all the young people in our youth movement and discussed how to equip them politically, economically and morally. Due to the economic crisis in this country in recent years, the youth of our country lost all hope. Some young people left this country. But it can no longer be like that.

We must take this country in a new direction. The ideas and suggestions of the youth community are mandatory for it. Within two years of the bankruptcy of this country, the President who with his 42 years of experience in Parliament, was able to restore the country so quickly. But, the work is not over yet.

Political parties should stop lying at will. For the safety of the country and the people, political parties and their representatives should leave traditional politics and work for the well-being of the public. Today, some people say that the President is breaking parties. But the President took over this country at a time when those parties were in tatters. After taking over the country, the President said that we will strengthen the collapsed parties, keep our own differences and work together with the country’s National policy framework without damaging the agenda of the country”.
