National Freedom Front Leader and MP Wimal Weerawansa said that he also received invitations from some political parties and individuals to join with them for Ministerial portfolios.
“I will never betray my policies for money”, Weerawansa said.
Weerawansa stated this while addressing a press conference held at the Sarvajana Balaya Headquarters in Borella on Monday (5).
He further mentioned that, both before and after his time in the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP), and before and after the 30-year war, he has consistently held only one political opinion and policy.
Weerawansa also highlighted that they had nominated Dilith Jayaweera, an individual who is aligned with the same policies of patriotism, nationalism, and leftist-progressive ideals, as a Presidential candidate from their camp.
He added that “At a representative conference held at the Sugathadasa Stadium in Colombo, with the participation of representatives from member parties and national organisations, the ‘Sarwajana Apekshawa’ was established with great success. There, we decided to make Dilith Jayaweera, entrepreneur, and leader of Mawbima Janatha Party our Presidential candidate.”
