Parliament Member J.C. Alawathuwala stated that the resignation of Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka from his position as Chairman of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) is a significant strength for the Party.

Addressing a press conference at SJB’s main office on Friday (9), MP Alawathuwala further said, “Although Field Marshal Fonseka was a good military leader, he was not well-suited for politics and lacked knowledge in the field.

The country is poised for Sajith Premadasa’s victory. Previous Presidents Mahinda and Gotabaya Rajapaksa won because they secured the majority of Sinhalese votes.
