Trishaw rams into parked lorry, three including baby die

A four-month-old baby and two others were killed and three others sustained injuries in a collision of a three-wheeler and a lorry in the Wewaldeniya area of the Colombo – Kandy main road.

The accident occurred when the three-wheeler rammed into a parked lorry.

Six persons who were travelling in the three-wheeler, including two boys, were rushed to the hospital with serious injuries.

However, a 60-year-old man, a 64-year-old woman, and a four-month-old baby died after hospitalisation.

The other three injured persons were admitted to the Warakapola Hospital and of them, a woman and a five-year-old boy were transferred to the Colombo National Hospital for further treatment.

Danowita Police are conducting further investigations.
