Ambassador-designate discusses promoting Buddhist tourism in Thailand

The Ambassador-designate of Sri Lanka to Thailand Wijayanthi Edirisinghe recently held productive discussions with the Tourism Authority of Thailand and Thai Air Asia to promote Sri Lanka’s Buddhist tourism in Thailand. The talks centered on initiatives to boost Sri Lankan tourism highlighting the country’s rich Buddhist heritage.

The Embassy, in collaboration with the Tourism Authority of Thailand and Thai Air Asia is set to arrange a media familiarization tour for renowned YouTubers from Thailand to showcase and promote Sri Lanka’s famous Buddhist sites, while providing authentic insights and encouraging more Thai tourists to explore these spiritual destinations.

This initiative is expected to enhance Sri Lanka’s tourism sector, and to further strengthen cultural ties between the two countries.
