NPP Gampola organizer Anusha Wimalaweera to support President

National People’s Power (NPP) Kandy District Executive Committee member and Gampola electorate organiser Anusha Wimalaweera has decided to support President Ranil Wickremesinghe in the upcoming Presidential Election.

Wimalaweera announced this decision during a meeting with the Justice and Prisons State Minister Anuradha Jayaratne and the Chief Organiser of the United National Party for Gampola, Samantha Aruna Kumara. He also attended a meeting of the Gampola electorate’s organising committee of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP), which was convened by Anuradha Jayaratne in support of President Wickremesinghe. Explaining his decision, Wimalaweera stated that he chose this path because the NPP lacks a concrete plan to rebuild the country. He further commented that continuing to remain in a political movement that asks people who drink milk tea in the morning to prepare for plain tea instead is futile.
