Neela’s remains to be brought here

The Foreign Ministry yesterday said that the remains of late Consul General of Sri Lanka in Milan and popular vocalist Neela Wickramasinghe are currently at the San Raffaele hospital in Milan and will be sent to Sri Lanka upon completion of relevant formalities, in coordination with the authorities in Italy and Sri Lanka.

Wickramasinghe, passed away in Milan,Italy on Monday January 17, 2022, due to a sudden illness. Visharada Neela Wickramasinghe assumed duties as the Consul-General of Sri Lanka in Milan, Italy on December 29,2021.

The Foreign Ministry extended its condolences to the family of late Wickramasinghe, and to those who mourn her passing away.
