“The NPP government will look after the people in the country by providing their basic requirements of food, health and education by removing the taxes imposed on them while in the process of building and developing the nation”, National People’s Power (NPP) Leader and Presidential Candidate Anura Kumara Dissanayake said.
The NPP Leader said this while he was addressing the crowd at the NPP maiden rally held in the Kalutara District in Bandaragama yesterday evening (22). “The time and opportunity has come for the people of this nation who are having a common need, goal and an opinion for a highly anticipated change in political governance, to take the decision to launch the beginning in implementing the change in the political system in the country from September 21 onwards by voting in NPP into power ensuring the victory of NPP on September 21”, NPP Presidential candidate Anura Kumara Dissanayake said.
He said that it will be pointless in letting go of the chance and opportunity to vote for the change on September 21 at the Presidential election and then continue to talk about the need for change.
The NPP Leader urged the people to use their vote on September 21 at the Presidential Election to help the NPP to kick start the programme to usher in the change that the people in the country so desperately are longing for, so that the change can be ushered in from September 22, the very next day after the victory of the NPP.
Change must be established starting with eradicating the corruption and fraud prevalent in the entire governance style in the country by ushering in a governance that is free of corruption and fraud which will be only carried out by an NPP government, the NPP Leader said.
The prevailing political culture where politicians are above the citizens will be changed by the NPP government. Politicians will no longer be above the citizens of this country as masters and servants under an NPP government and the present political culture where the political leaders are above the citizens of the country will be changed where both the political leaders and the citizens will be brought into the same level to enjoy their rights on equal terms, Anura Kumara Dissanayake said.
